MOBILE, Ala. - On Friday's show, Oprah Winfrey made an announcement that surprised many of her viewers. The queen of daytime television has decided to end her popular talk show after 25 seasons.

She attempted to hold back tears and shared hugs with audience members, but Oprah Winfrey made an announcement that shocked and saddened many of her viewers.

"It's so sad, she's an icon. She's my lady she should stay there forever," Dusty Cannon said.

"I like her and she's been on a long time. Where she comes from, what she's done, she made history and will continue to make history, she's a good woman," Langford Morrisette said.

"I liked it. She was very versatile. She talked to everybody about everything. She stood for what she believed in and I think that's pretty good," Juanita Johnston said.

Winfrey is known as a woman with great character, who shared her personal struggles. She had many high profile interviews and had shows where she gave gifts from the heart. Her show was watched by people of all ages, races and economic classes.

"I think Oprah has done an excellent job of touching people's lives. She's done and excellent job of blessing people that really needed it. She brought a lot of people to the forefront who would not have had the opportunity, so I believe she has been a blessing to mankind," Floreda Derks added.

Viewers said Oprah had an impact and influence that was in a class of its own and they still hope to see her on television in the future.

Reports said Winfrey is expected to start up a new talk show on the Oprah Winfrey Network, or OWN, which is projected to debut in January 2011. The OWN channel is supposed to replace the Discovery Health Channel.
