MOBILE, Ala. - The living rooms of most homes in the area were littered with gift wrap on Friday, after Santa Claus made a visit. But for those people who did not like that weird sweater or tacky tie, what can they do?

After 364 days of anticipation, and countless millions spent on presents, gift cards and gift wrap, the day has arrived, and the big guy delivered.

"I got a wii game," says one child.

"I got one of those heaters you put in the patio. So that when I sit outside, I don't freeze to death!" says a Louisiana woman.

"TVs for my car, this jacket," says one lady.

But Santa is human, isn't he? And humans do make mistakes. But most people FOX10 interviewed said they did not receive a gift they did not enjoy.

"I like all gifts, there's nothing I don't like," says one woman.

Could these people be lying? Perhaps they don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Let's ask some kids, they won't let us down!

Fox10 asked a group of children if they got anything they didn't like. One little girl said, "No sir. I liked all of it!"

For the folks we met today, their Christmas treated them well.

"I've got good family. They're GOOD gift givers," says one man donning an Alabama sweater.

But for those didn't get a good gift, here are some tips for that holiday gift return:

  • Bring your receipt to the store and study up on the return policy.

  • Don't remove electronics from the original wrapping.

  • Some stores may charge an 'open-box' fee, make sure you're familiar with the policies.

  • lastly, check out any bargains while you're at the store.

The people we met Friday know what's important this holiday.

"It's all about family," says one man.

And in the end, that's all that really matters.

Most receipts will tell you, you only have a limited time to take that gift back, so make sure you don't wait too long.
