Police looking for suspect in shooting

Mobile, Ala. (WALA) - On May 11, 2010, Mobile Police received a call for shots fired at the RBC Bank located 7849 Cottage Hill Road. Upon the officer’s arrival, they found a female with apparent gunshot wounds. Mobile Fire Department responded and the female was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary findings of the investigation are that the incident is a domestic violence case. The victim has been identified as 36 year old Wendy Stevens, and she appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds. The suspect has been identified as 43 year old Michael Berry. Berry’s vehicle was recovered by police shortly after the incident, but he is not in police custody. Police K-9 units responded and an Alabama State helicopter has assisted in the search.
