5 car pile up shuts down part of I-10

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - t was a bad morning commute for some drivers heading westbound on Interstate 10. Authorities closed down one lane inside the George Wallace tunnel after a multiple vehicle accident. It happened around 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013.
According to Mobile Police, five vehicles were involved in the accident. There’s no word of any injuries, however it could take a while to clear the scene. Police say, wreckers have to remove each vehicle one by one.
Drivers can get through the area using the right hand lane but it is slow going. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use an alternate route if possible.
