MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Residents of Racine Avenue, the street where Wendy Fisher was shot to death, have been invited to attend a Community Action Group meeting Monday night.

In a letter to her constituents, Gregory said a forming a group is a step in the right direction for residents of the community.

“I believe that would be a good proactive step for your community and I highly recommend these neighborhood groups to everyone in our district,” Gregory said.

Gregory invited Racine Drive residents to this meeting of the Athey Road Community Action Group so residents could get a better idea about the group's operation.

A member of the Mobile County District Attorneys Office will also be at the meeting. It starts at 6:30 at the United Methodist Church on Overlook Road.

Wendy Fisher was shot and killed after witnesses say she yelled at a speeding car to slow down at her home on Racine Ave. Trayon Washington has been charged with murder in the case.

Following the killing, a new speed limit sign was added to the street; speed bumps have also been discussed.
