MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Two Mobile Communities took advantage of Saturday's beautiful weather to get families together and spread important messages.

For the fifth year, the Triple B Motorcycle Club sponsored a Family Fun Day at Hillsdale Park.

Kenny Dees grew up in the neighborhood, and he said the event is a way to give back to the area.

Across town in the historic area known as the Campground community, another Family Day was underway.  Casmarah Mani organized the event for the first time in the area.

Mani said the focus here is "Stop the Violence".

In addition to food and music, the Campground Community Group handed out more than a dozen certificates to families that have lost a love one to violence.

There were also certificates for two fallen police officers, Stephen Green and Brandon Sigler.
