Mobile airport offers free wi-fi

MOBILE, Ala. - Mobile Regional Airport now offers free wireless internet service (Wi-Fi) terminal-wide! For customers to access complementary internet service, they simply need to open their laptop, select "Free Mobile Airport WiFi" and surf the net. There is no need to log-in or enter a password.

"Offering our passengers a safe, comfortable and convenient terminal experience is one of our primary goals. For that reason, we decided to offer free wireless internet service after the contract with our current provider expired," stated Airport Director of Aviation, Thomas G. Hughes.

"Through feedback from our airport patrons, we learned that our wireless internet service was one of the most important and highly utilized of all our amenities. In an effort to make our airport terminal experience even better, we chose to offer wireless internet service free of charge," stated Airport Authority Executive Director, Bill Sisson.

Work to improve all aspects of the airport customer experience continues. The Authority continues to work with the local community and airline partners to improve air service options into and out of Mobile. The Authority also continues to improve the functionality and aesthetics of the airport through airport improvement projects, including: new lighting, ceiling tiles and a sprinkler system, repaving of all airport parking lots, new children play areas, the installation of modern and functional furniture and a multi-year outdoor landscaping project.
