MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) -

The Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama is gearing up for its annual Thanksgiving dinner and they’re asking for your help to make it happen.

Each year, the non-profit organization serves up turkey, ham and all the sides to anyone who would otherwise go without on Thanksgiving Day.  The grocery list for such a meal is not a small and that’s where you come in.   See what they need listed below.

  • 100 Turkeys
  • 50 Hams
  • 50 #10 Cans of Green Beans
  • 50 #10 Cans of Yams
  • 100 Pounds of Cornmeal
  • 100 Pounds of Flour
  • Any Dinner Rolls
  • Any Cakes and Pies
  • Soft Drinks
  • Fresh Fruit and Candies
  • Aluminum Baking Pans

If you can't make it to the store, financial donations will also be accepted.

The Salvation Army served nearly 1,000 plates last year and plans for about the same this year.  The meal will be served from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving at The Salvation Army of Coastal Alabama headquarters, 1009 Dauphin Street in Mobile.
