MOBILE, Ala. - The crowd wasn't as big as the April Tea Party, but those who turned out were just as passionate.

They came from all walks of like, active military, veterans, politicians, and families.

The Rabin family of Mobile was also there.

Mary Jefferson Rabin is worried about the government and the country she loves.

"As Thomas Jefferson said a lot of things should be left up to the state, and I just don't want to become a socialist country. I want to keep our freedom. I believe in freedom, and there's a fight for it." she said.

Kevin Rabin said it's not a protest of the president and political parties.

"I'm not here to support the republicans or the democrats. I just think the people in Washington have too much power." he said.

The Tea Party gathering was also a chance for some folks to protest what they call out of control government spending. They call it taxation without representation.

Alabama State Senator Ben Brooks said he wanted his constituents to know he shares their concerns.

"What you're hearing is a great frustration with a rapidly expanding federal government, enormous spending bills, and people are just very nervous about where that's going to take us in the long run." Brooks said.

15-year-old Gabrielle could be doing other things this Fourth of July weekend, but she wanted to be at this rally.

"I see people out here my age, and it's good to see their not off to the beach. That they actually still care about the country."

There was also a tea party held in Eight Mile and Robertsdale.
