MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. - Classes at the University of Mobile resume Wednesday morning. Classes were unexpectedly canceled Tuesday after an accident left the school with no air-conditioning.
University officials said a truck ran into a utility pole Tuesday and knocked out the university's power.
The Gulf Coast has recently been under a heat advisory. The school decided to close because of the heat and lack of air conditioning.
The University was able to restore power to most of the campus to allow classes to resume Wednesday, but the athletic buildings will be closed indefinitely, while the power poles are replaced.
