MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile Firefighters are investigating after they responded to a house fire on Seabreeze Road around Sunday afternoon.

Ralph Browning said he had just arrived at his mother’s house to mow her lawn when he heard a child screaming. Browning said he ran over to the house where he found a young girl with burns on her feet.

He said he kicked in the back door of the home to search for anyone else that may be in the residence and found no one.

Browning said he began to put the fire out and wrapped the girl in cloth until paramedics arrived and took her to the hospital. He said there was another child with her, but he/she ran off.

The owner of the home said it was vacant and he was planning on fixing it up to rent it out.
