DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. (WALA) - This is the first year that The Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo falls outside of red snapper season. The season was cut short this year, therefore the rodeo made some adjustments.

Only 200 red snapper tags were issued. It was picked on a lottery basis. Those with the tags are allowed to catch one snapper, and regardless of the size, they have to keep that fish. At the end of the tournament, those who caught a snapper will be placed in a drawing for $500.
