Salvation Army of Mobile County reaches Angel Tree deadline

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The deadline to return gifts for Angels adopted from the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree is today, Wednesday, Dec. 12.

Officials said Angel’s gifts should be returned to the location the Angel was picked up from, but they can also be returned to the Angel Tree booth in Bel Air Mall until 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The Salvation Army said nearly all of their Angels were adopted this year but, of the over 1000 available, only about 500 have been returned. Susan Brown, the Associate Area Commander for the organization, said it is important to get gifts returned as soon as possible.

“We are so grateful that the Coastal Alabama community has found it in their hearts to generously adopt nearly all of our Angels. To make sure each child gets their gift in time for Christmas morning, we need to collect them as soon as possible,” said Major Brown.

Brown said toys must be sorted, organized and assembled in some cases, and having the gifts returned by Wednesday will guarantee that the Angel who asked for it will get their gift in time for Christmas.

Brown said, “This is such an exciting time of year, and we want it to be enjoyable for all families in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.”

After Saturday, officials said they will continue to accept Angels their headquarters (1009 Dauphin Street) through Dec. 20, but those will be used to fill last minute needs.
