MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Barrington Park Apartments management evicted a Mobile woman who allegedly threw a puppy over the balcony at the complex Tuesday.

The puppy is in critical condition and being treated for its injuries at South Alabama Spay and Neuter Clinic and Cpl. Chris Levy with the Mobile Police Department said an arrest warrant has been signed for Kendra Dexter, the owner of the puppy.

Dexter will be charged with animal cruelty when she is arrested.

The property manager at the complex, Scott Kimbler, said he found the puppy, a 9-week-old dachshund on a grassy area, struggling to breathe.

He said the dog's owner was fighting with her roommate before she allegedly threw the dog from the third-story balcony.
