MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The boyfriend of Wendy Fisher, the woman shot to death on Racine Avenue, said it's a huge relief to know someone has been arrested in connection to her death.

"Just everyone is just trying to pick up the pieces and get some kind of normality back," said Russo.

Russo said an investigator came to his house this morning with pictures of possible suspects. He said he immediately he recognized a photo of the person he believes was the gun-man as 17-year-old Trayon Washington.

"There was about eight different photos to choose from. He was the first one I went to," said Russo.

Russo said before and after the shooting , he got a good look at the suspect.

Washington was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with murder.

Like Rob, Wendy's 16-year-old daughter, Madelynn North is also feeling a sense of relief. She said if she could say something to the alleged shooter she would say, "You took away my parents."

Russo said he will maintain a close relationship with Fisher's kids and try to get back to get back to a normal life.

"We did have a little family back there in that house and just because she is gone, I don't want to take that away from the kids," said Russo.

Russo said a college fund for Fisher's kids is set up at Reigon's Bank under "The Wendy Fisher Fund".
