MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - On Wednesday, January 3, Mobile police were called to an apartment complex on Springhill Avenue after a call of a person found dead.
"That's where we found 64-year-old Alma Dixon deceased inside the residence," said Ashley Rains with the Mobile Police Department.
According to police this wasn't ruled a homicide at first.
"Through the investigation and autopsy, it was determined that she died of blunt force trauma to the head," Rains said.
Police continued their investigation which led them to Brent Dove. Dove's apartment is where Dixon's body was found. A short time later, Dove was arrested.
"Further investigation revealed that Mr. Dove was the person with her when she died so we arrested him and charged him with murder," said Rains.
Right now, police won't describe the type of relationship there was between Dove and Dixon. Police would also not elaborate on the weapon used. Dove is currently in Mobile Metro Jail.
Mobile police are also looking into some of Dove's previous arrests including an arrest in Kansas for drug and theft charges. Per online records, Dove has apparently been on the run from the Kansas Prison System for almost four years.
Dove also used the alias Brent Cox, when he was booked into Metro Jail.
