Aunt of missing Brittany Robinson talks

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The sister of Demetric Hooper, the man who was allegedly last seen with his now-missing 14-year-old daughter, spoke with FOX10 Monday.

According to Brittany Robinson's mother, Tiana Hogue, it's been more than five weeks since she's seen her daughter.

Hogue, told FOX10 News she spoke with detectives recently about her missing daughter.  During that conversation, Hogue learned that a man riding a bus from McComb, Mississippi to Memphis identified Demetric Hooper from photos; police would not confirm that information.

"He was aboard the same bus with him from Mississippi to Tennessee, but he don't know where he went after that because he didn't board the same bus. But, in conversation, he mentioned that he may be going to Arkansas," said Hogue.

Hogue said the man made a call from his seat mate's phone.  This was on July 9.

"The guy gave a great description of him as to how he looked now, not the photo that you see on the television because he has facial hair now with like a small afro," said Hogue.

Unfortunately, Tiana said detectives told her that Brittany was not seen with the man on the bus.

Demetric's sister, Sierra Hooper, also said detectives told her that Demetric made a phone call from Memphis, Tennessee and had been on a bus. She said they also told her that he was spotted on a surveillance camera, and Brittany was not seen on that footage.

Sierra said her brother would not hurt any of his children. She said she has five children and would only trust Demetric, another sister, or her mother to watch them.

"If he has her, she is safe. She is safe," said Hooper, "I know for a fact that my brother will not hurt his daughter or anybody else's child, period. If anything, he's going to protect his daughter."

Sierra told FOX10 News she picked up Brittany from Hogue's house on June 14, then she picked up Demetric and dropped both of them off at his trailer on Dawes Road.

'That day, she sat in the middle of the seat with her hands between her legs, and she just rocked. She wouldn't say nothing," said Hooper, "But when my brother got in the car, she just opened up."

She said she picked up Demetric a few days later and dropped him off downtown.

When Sierra later dropped Demetric off at his Dawes home she did not see Brittany and assumed she had already gone home.

She said days later, Hogue called to say Brittany was missing.
