CITRONELLE, Ala. (WALA) - It pays to know math.
A correct answer to the final question in Tuesday's HiQ academic quiz contest gave the Blount High School team the victory in a match held in the Citronelle High School gymnasium.
Blount and Citronelle were tied at 12 at halftime, while Leflore had 4 points.
The match stayed close through the second half, and with a correct answer on the math toss-up, Blount edged past Leflore to win.
The final score was Blount 21, Leflore 20 and Citronelle 16.
