Child drowns at Dog River Park

UPDATE: Police have released the name of the child who drowned in Dog River over the weekend. He was 9-year-old Jevonte Reivas.

Police say Jevonte fell into the water around 4pm Sunday, and hadn't been seen for 15 minutes. Mobile Fire and Rescue pulled the boy's body from the water and took him to USA Medical Center where he died.

A small child's body was pulled from the water Sunday at Dog River Park in Mobile. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the little boy's death. Grief stricken family members gathered at the park. Police have not released the child's name.
