MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said they are still looking for a man they said is trying to entice young girls to get into his vehicle.
Deputies said all of the reported incidents have happened in one general area. Now, those in the neighborhood are taking action.
Stephanie Dunn's business revolves around young kids, and she's doing what she can to protect them.
"As soon as she told me, I thought, ‘Oh my gosh! A business like mine is a magnet for a guy like that," Dunn said.
Dunn owns Turning Pointe Dance Academy. She sent out emails to the parents and posted a warning about a man trying to entice young girls on her Facebook page.
She also took some extra steps of caution at her work.
"The thought of him using my business as a way to promote what he thought his business was is not acceptable," Dunn said.
Late last week the Mobile County Sheriff's Office released details on the suspect. Deputies said there are several reports of the suspect trying to get young girls in his truck.
Lt. Paul Burch said several tips came in over the weekend.
"We've followed up on every one of those, and we'll continue to follow-up on any leads," said Burch.
Burch said deputies are continuing to patrol Three-Notch Road and other surrounding areas until the suspect is caught.
The vehicle is described as a white 1990-1993 Chevrolet C-1500. The truck is said to be dented and dirty with faded looking white paint with no clear coat sealer, old dirty looking tires, gray primer patches on the driver’s door below door handle and on truck bed between front door and rear wheel.
Call the sheriff's office if you have any information.
