MOBILE, Alal. (WALA) - The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said an altercation occurred between two brothers over the weekend, sending one to the hospital.
Lori Myles with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said Timothy Cobb attacked his brother Kenneth Cobb with an aluminum baseball bat.
“According to the witnesses, Kenneth was minding his own business and Timothy starts a fight and ends up hitting him with an aluminum bat, causing almost two inches in the back of his head that had to be sewed together,” Myles said.
Neighbors said they were surprised when they heard about the incident.
“I was surprised when I heard what happened. We didn't hear anything, no ambulance or anything,” said neighbor Herman Thames.
According to deputies, Timothy Cobb fled on foot and Kenneth Cobb was taken to a hospital.
Relatives said Kenneth was released after having 19 stitches in his head.
Thames said he has never had trouble with the family.
“He (Timothy) used to work at the Wal-Mart when I was working security. He is a nice guy,” said Thames.
Jail records show this isn’t the first time Timothy has been in trouble with the law. Officials said Timothy had just been released from jail after allegedly stealing his girlfriend’s car.
“On the fourth (of May) he was arrested for having stolen his girlfriend’s car. (He) pushed her down, kicked her and took her car without the permission. We charged him so he was actually in our jail last weekend,” Myles said.
In addition to that, Timothy Cobb has a lengthy rap sheet.
“Clearly, there is an issue here with drug charges from a previous time. So maybe that has some reason on why he was acting the way he was but he needs to be back in some type of program,” Myles said.
Family members said they don’t know why Timothy attacked Kenneth.
“There is a warrant out for his arrest, and it's domestic violence first,” said Myles.
