SEMMES, Ala. (WALA) - A Semmes family turned the tables on a would-be robber Wednesday night. The victims say they caught the suspected thief inside their home.

Deputies arrested Forrest Amacker, 19, at the home on Cynthia Drive.

Deputies say the family returned to the residence Wednesday around 7:15 p.m. and noticed a strange pickup truck in their driveway.

The homeowner, who did not want to be identified, tells FOX10 he went around back to investigate, when the suspect came running out the front door.

The man’s wife honked the horn, leading him to chase the teen.

Authorities say a fight broke out and Amacker repeatedly stabbed the homeowner with a writing pen.

A nearby neighbor heard the fighting and went to assist.  Together, the men held Amacker at gunpoint until deputies arrived.

Investigators found women’s jewelry in his pockets.

A stolen 47-inch flatscreen television, PlayStation 3, and a laptop were recovered from the suspect’s pickup truck.

The teenager is charged with first degree robbery.

FOX10 has learned Amacker was booked into Mobile Metro Jail in May on four separate burglary charges.
