MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - United States Attorney Kenyen R. Brown of the Southern District of Alabama announced that Dr. Murali Krishna Aalabasavaraja Reddy, 30, was sentenced to ten years in prison for attempting to entice a teenager for sex.

The evidence at trial showed that Reddy arranged to meet a 15-year-old boy for a sexual encounter at his apartment.

Reddy was convicted by a jury in September 2012 of attempting to entice a teenage boy for sex via the internet. At the time, Reddy was a physician training as a pediatrician.

Following his release from prison, Reddy, an Indian national, will be turned over to immigration authorities for deportation proceedings.
