Downtown Mobile shop owners prepared for Small Business Saturday on Friday, Nov. 25. The nationwide event, sponsored by American Express, encourages consumers to support local businesses. It occurs the Saturday after Thanksgiving, annually.

Downtown Mobile shops prep for Small Business Saturday

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - You've heard of Black Friday, now comes Small Business Saturday. It's an event that will be held November 24 and it's been promoted around the country.

The purpose is to raise awareness of the importance of small business in building the economy.

The Downtown Mobile Alliance is promoting Small Business Saturday to attract people to downtown businesses. There will also be special discounts.
