MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - In a show of solidarity for a teacher diagnosed with cancer, students at Clark-Shaw Middle school shaved off their own hair.

Clark-Shaw teacher Glen Mutchnick was diagnosed with cancer over the summer of 2012.

As a gesture of support, and to make his time easier, four students started the Clark-Shaw Bald Eagle Club and shaved their heads. The facebook group for the club now has 108 members signed up.

They hope to raise money for Mutchnick, as well as awareness for his disease.

School system officials said that the teacher had no idea what his students had done and was honored when members of the 8th grade class surprised him with this display of love.
