67-year-old man fatally shot in RV Taylor Community, MPD seeking leads

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Early Saturday morning, October 20, just before 7am, Mobile Police responded to a report of a man down on Sumner Drive in the RV Taylor community.

Upon arrival, officers found 67-year-old Phillip Wright suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Mobile Fire Rescue responded and the victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

MPD said detectives will continue with the investigation. They ask if anyone has information about the incident, to please call the Mobile Police Department at 208-7211, Crime Stoppers at 208-7000 or text to 274637 and include the keyword CRIME 411.
