From the very young, to those who have experienced service to their country first hand, a group gathered this morning to honor Army Staff Sgt. Christopher Brown.
"It's our duty to step up and stand in honor of them," said Greg Brown with the Patriot Guard Riders.
Brown said his group accompanied Sgt. Brown's body when it arrived in Mobile, and they will accompany it until it reaches its final resting place at Barrancas National Cemetery. Brown said none of the riders knew Sgt. Brown, but that doesn't matter.
"We come, and we mourn with them because that soldier is our brother or sister-at-arms. People that they don't know and don't have any ties to, that family come and render honors. That means a lot," said Brown.
Brown said more than 20 riders participated, and around 50 participated when Sgt. Brown's body arrived in Mobile. The riders are from all along the Gulf Coast.
