MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Family members with loved ones aboard the Carnival Cruise Ship Triumph were overjoyed to be reunited in Mobile Thursday, February 14.
The disabled cruise ship pulled up to port at 9:30 p.m. sharp.
Since the arrival, coach busses have been transporting passengers to New Orleans periodically throughout the night. Many worried family members, however, chose to drive to the Port City and pickup their loved ones instead.
“It's been five days longer than we expected to get to see them, and we knew it'd make them happy for us to be waiting for them,” said one man who drove from Mississippi.
“We didn't want them to have to bus her to New Orleans with no-- we didn't know what they've had as far as food and to be able to bathe,” said another woman who came to pick up a family friend from Louisiana.
Throughout the day in the Port City, we've seen families from Indiana, Louisiana, and Texas.
Many looked to see their friends and family onboard in time for Valentine ’s Day.
