MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - On November 20, just days before Thanksgiving, Mobile Police said 43-year-old Robert Williams was gunned down on the corner of Old Shell Road and Michael Donald Avenue.

There haven't been any arrests and the case is still unsolved. The family is now making a plea for help.

“Please come forward if you have any information that you can give about his murder. Please come forward. We don't want him to be forgotten. We want everybody to know his life mattered. He mattered,” said Danielle Davis, Williams' sister.

The family said Williams was an active member of First Baptist Missionary Baptist church. They said he was even planning a men’s retreat just days before he was killed.

It’s been hard for them to grasp how Williams died. They said it's just not adding up.

However, his grandmother thinks she knows what may have happened to him.

“I truly think my grandson was robbed. And they didn't just rob him they killed him! They didn’t think robbing is enough - they had to killed him,” she said.

Until there’s progress made in the case, the family said they won't stop looking for answers

"I hope people can find out who it is because I really loved him and I miss him very much,” said Elizabeth Davis, Williams' 9-year-old niece.

Police have a surveillance picture of a person of interest, but need your help identifying him. If you have any information regarding this case call Mobile Police at 251-208-1700.
