Accident near Cochrane-Africatown bridge leaves one dead

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile police said a man died in an accident after his vehicle collided with a tractor trailer early Tuesday morning.

Police said the accident happened around 6 a.m. on Dec. 11 on the Cochrane Causeway at 6th street. Charles Hoven of Saraland died in the crash, according to police.

Police said Hoven was headed south on the Cochrane Causeway when he collided with the tractor trailer; he was not wearing a seatbelt and investigators said speed was a factor.

Traffic Homicide Detectives will continue to investigate the incident.  If anyone has information, please call the Mobile Police Department at 208-7211.
