MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The Mobile Fire Rescue department has concluded a fire that killed a woman last month was accidental.

Elaine Ritchie, a mother and grandmother of 8, was killed in a mobile home fire on Andrews Road. Ritchie was home alone when the fire broke out shortly after 8 am on Monday, October 29.

Mobile Fire-Rescue spokesperson Steve Huffman said, “There were four possible causes, all accidental, but no single one we could say without a doubt was the main cause.”

A fund has been set up at Compass Bank to help the Ritchie family. People interested in helping the family can make a donation to the Ritchie Family Memorial at Compass Bank
