MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A father and son were arrested for harassing communications.
Travis Hawkins, Sr., and Travis Hawkins, Jr., were booked into Mobile's Metro jail on a warrant for harassing communications Dec 6.
A Mobile police report said Hawkins, Jr., called Kristi Taylor, the mother of his alleged beating victim Mallory Owens, and made threats that indicated he was going to hurt someone.
In the police report, Taylor claims Hawkins, Sr., sent her a text message that read, "Thanks for sending police over here."
This incident comes after Owens returned to the Hawkins' home after she was released from the hospital.
Although we tried to contact Hawkins, Sr. and Jr., we were unsuccessful. However, we were able to speak with their family attorney Jim Byrd who said he advised the father and son to turn themselves in to authorities.
Both have been released from Mobile Metro Jail.
