MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department has added two new ladder trucks to their arsenal, as well as three remounted rescue trucks.
Tweets sent from the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department link to photos of the new ladder truck, which Mayor Sam Jones, Fire Chief Stephen Dean and city council members presented on Tuesday February 19.
One of the new trucks will be placed at Lathan Fire Station off Dauphin Island Parkway and the other will be at the Tapia Fire Station on Airport Blvd. The trucks they’re replacing (numbers 5 and 24) are both over 25 years old with more than 100,000 miles.
Officials said the trucks were manufactured by E-One in Ocala, Fla. and purchased through Sunbelt Apparatus in Fairhope.
