Fisher's art to be displayed at LODA ArtWalk

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A special tribute to Wendy Fisher was held on Friday night. The Haberdasher had her artworks on display at the art walk in downtown Mobile.

Fisher was shot and killed outside her house on Saturday. Witnesses said she was yelling at a speeding car to slow down.

Wendy Fisher’s parents said she was born an artist. Something she shares with her father Harold Fisher.

"I guess, maybe from just watching me draw, she probably picked up some stuff but a lot of it was her own," said Harold Fisher.

Friends said other than her time as a tattoo artist, not many people ever saw Fisher’s artwork. Now, It speaks to her friend Tyger Kunz.

"It really is a reflection of who she was. She was a little bit of all things, and that was the great thing about her. She absolutely got out and lived life,” said Kunz.

Elise Poche said she sees Wendy in every piece.

"You have the peaceful sailboats then you have a self portrait, and that's kind of a rock star,” said Poche.

Friday everyone who stopped by was impressed by Fisher’s creativity.

"We felt that would give a peaceful celebration of her life,” said Poche.

Fisher’s parents are proud of their daughter. Her mother, Carol is now seeing just how many lives her daughter touched.

"We have a new family. We have a new family in mobile now. We have a new family in Mississippi. We have family in Pensacola now. Were like one big family, one community now because everyone is reaching out to us and honoring her,” said Carol fisher.

The bar was also taking donations for Fisher’s two children. If you would like to donate there is a fund set up at Regions bank under “Children of Fisher.”
