MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Relatives of passengers aboard the Carnival Cruise Ship "Triumph" began showing up at the Alabama Cruise Terminal in Mobile early Thursday morning waiting for their loved ones to arrive.
DRIVING IN FROM MISSISSIPPI
Nicole Enjuofor’s mother drove from Tupelo, Miss., to see her daughter.
She said, "Why? I don't understand why? What has taken them so long to get them home?"
She talked with her on the phone Thursday morning, and her daughter said "that the condition was awful. That they did have water, but, it was brown water, that the food has been awful. You couldn't flush the commodes. The smell is horrible. Water is everywhere on the ship."
She couldn't wait to see her daughter. She said, "I'm going to hug her. I'm going to thank God that she's here. I just want to be here to embrace her."
LONE STAR LICENSE PLATES
If you look in the parking area, you'll see plenty of cars with Texas license plates.
Doug Briscoe and Michael Moffitt drove in from northeast of Dallas to pick up their wives.
They said their wives were joined by about nine other members of Jazzercise group.
Would they consider staying in a hotel in Mobile to rest up?
Briscoe said, "I know my wife is going to want to go home. Home is what's important to her."
Moffitt said, "She wants to get a hotel room, I'll get a hotel room. If she just wants to get a shower and head home, I'll do that."
