MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Every year more than 28,000 men die from prostate cancer. In an effort to help raise awareness, FOX10 and Infirmary Health are offering free prostate checks Friday.
The simple blood test will be administered at the FOX10 Studio and at Thomas Hospital in Baldwin County. There screenings will be free for the first 100 men at each location. If you arrive after the 100th person, you will receive information on prostate screening.
The results will be sent to the patient within a week.
Those participating can also receive a free blood pressure and free glucose check at the time of the PSA.
The free screening is sponsored by Mobile Infirmary.
The screenings will be held from 8 a.m. through 12 p.m. As of 9 a.m. 99 people had shown up at the FOX10 studio for the screening. Ninety people had shown up at Thomas Hospital.
