MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Relief is available for homeowners affected by the December 2012 tornadoes. The City of Mobile’s Community Planning and Development Department’s Tornado Assistance Loan program will provide deferred payment loans for qualified individuals.

Homeowners could be awarded up to $40,000 to make repairs. However, there are some restrictions. The selected homes must be fully brought up to city code with the funds. If $40,000 is not enough to do so, you will not be eligible for assistance.

Available funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. The deadline to apply is February 15 at 4 p.m. For more information and an application, click here .

The Tornado Homeowner Rehab Loan Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
