MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - With the announcement of Airbus setting up shop in Mobile, many Gulf Coast citizens are asking one question: How do I get on board?

One thing is for sure, there is going got be plenty of jobs on all levels but don’t put in your two weeks notice just yet. A spokesperson with the company says the hiring process doesn’t start until next year.

President of Mobile Works Sydney Raine said Monday’s announcement is a good sign for the Mobile job market.

"Now people have hope there is something coming something they can touch they can feel,” said Raine.

It will be some time before Airbus physically touches down in Mobile, but when it does it will bring thousands of jobs. Mary Anne Greczyn with Airbus said the company has already gotten several inquires.

"Airbus has already gotten calls. As soon as this news broke today, we started getting calls at all of our U.S. facilities," said Greczyn.

In the construction of the facility alone,  2,500 workers will be needed and once the facility is built, more than 1,000.

Greczyn said whatever your skill, there will be a job for you.

"You’ve got the skilled engineers and you’ve also got the support staff, the office management type, the administration, and the custodians. All of those things that it takes to keep a 1,000 person facility running we need those people," said Greczyn.

Airbus has enlisted the help of Alabama Industrial Development Training, or AIDT, for recruiting workers.

Just hours after the announcement AIDT already had a portal for job seekers but Grecyzn says it’s a little early to be sending in your resumes. She says the best way to apply is directly through the companies website.

"There is a special segment now on how to work for Airbus and then you go regional, how to work for Airbus in the US and soon how to work for Airbus in the US in Mobile, Ala." said Greczyn.

Raine said Airbus will dramatically help the job market and its time for Mobilians to show Airbus they are ready to work.

"The task is going to be great. I think were up to the task,” said Raine.
