MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Calling all barbeque fans!  You can get your fill of tasty food and help out a very good cause at the same time!

The Hickory Pit Too from Semmes was at the Fox10 Studios Wednesday, March 6 promoting their weekend event.

United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile's 12th Annual BBQ Championship and Hog Wild Festival is March 8 and 9, 2013 at the Greater Gulf State Fairgrounds, located on Cody Road.  All of the proceeds benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile.

The Hog Wild Festival is one of the biggest bar-b-que events on the Gulf Coast with more than 100 teams competing. Along with the good food, you can check out a car and bike show, a kids’ area, live music and much more.  You can also sample free bar-b-que on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. during the People's Choice Competition.

Gates open at 3:30 p.m. on Friday with free bar-b-que sandwiches to the first 500 people who buy tickets at the gate.  Tickets are $12 for a weekend pass.  Tickets are $5 for children age 5 and up. Children under 5 get in free.

All the money raised from this event will benefit United Cerebral Palsy of Mobile's services for children and adults with special needs. The agency serves 28 counties, from Mobile to Montgomery, by offering programs such as Supported Employment, Early Intervention, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Preschool, Camp SMILE, and more.
