MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The 2012 Greek fest kicked off in Mobile.

When it comes to the matter of food, it's safe to say that language has no meaning.

Despite the language barriers, there's only one thing you need to understand- this Greek food is good.

"I get that taste of that lamb-burger in my mouth, and I just can't get it out of my mind,” said one festival goer.

The 2012 Greek Fest is back to satisfy Mobile taste buds.

Hundreds of volunteers have spent months preparing for the three day festival sharing the Greek community with the Mobile community.

There's music, dancing, shopping and tours of the beautifully ornate, elegant, and majestic Greek Orthodox Church. And then you can go right back to the food!

But which food's the best? That's a tough question.

Patti Panayiotou with Greek Fest said, "That's like trying to choose a favorite child, all I can tell you is you have three days, and that's enough to try everything."

Good luck pronouncing the names of the food there!

The festival is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. from now until Saturday.

We're told the best times to go are at night, to see the Greek dancers.

And if you're in a rush, there's also a drive thru booth next to the church, so you can get your fix of Greek food.
