MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The pictures are the proof. Mobile Police Narcotics and Vice Unit took these after raiding a home on Marle road. Timothy Burquist, 41, was taken into custody.
"They were able to recover a large number of drugs, a lot of pills and weapons," said Cpl. Chris Levy.
Police said street value of the marijuana at more than $1,500. The pills found include hydrocodone, oxycodone, and other pain pills. Along with the drugs, police said they confiscated a number of guns including rifles, shotguns, and 9mm handguns.
"When you have someone who has a large number of drugs in the home, they obviously have it set up for distribution. That's bad enough. Once you start adding things like guns in the situation, that adds a new element for the potential of violence," Levy said.
People in the neighborhood with whom we spoke did not want to be on camera, but said there's a lot of activity on that part of the street. They also said they hope this arrest will deter some of that activity.
Burquist is facing several charges including unlawful distribution of a controlled substance.
