High Scoring Debut for HiQ

2013 season opens

THEODORE, Ala. (WALA) - High scores highlighted the opening of the 2013 HiQ academic quiz competition in Mobile County.

The first match of the year took place in the new auditorium at Theodore High School, featuring teams from Theodore, Bryant and Davidson High Schools.

Davidson jumped to a 10 point lead at halftime over Bryant, which fought back in the second half of the competition.

The final score was Davidson 50, Bryant 49 and Theodore 22.

This is the 26th year for HiQ in Mobile County, and FOX10 News anchor Bob Grip's 25th consecutive year as Quizmaster.
