There is a lot to repair at the facility.

Tommy Sheffield, the Executive Director of Operations for the Mobile County Public School System, said, "A lot of my terra cotta tile roofs, the Spanish style roofs, are gone. The auditorium lost at least fifty percent, completely. You can see daylight. We assessed the entire campus. We have roof damage on the entire campus."
Murphy High was built in the mid 1920's.
It was first known as Mobile High School.
But, Sheffield said the school will re-build.
He said, "We've got a good team out here. Its dark, we can't do a lot tonight. We've got a contractor already on site. We'll hit the ground in the morning, and we'll put it back together."
