MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - A downtown hotel will pay a special honor to a National Guard Batallion that includes one of its own as they prepare to deploy to Afgahnistan.

The Battle House Hotel in Downtown Mobile will hold a red carpet event starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday in honor of National Guard Battalion 226, which includes Adam Yunker, a bartender at the hotel.

The Battle House says it will also host a Yellow Ribbon Information Program for the National Guard starting at 7 a.m. on Sunday.

Officials said there are about 500 people expected to attend Sunday morning’s event in the Bon Secour Ballroom.

The Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program (YRRP) is an organization that helps National Guard Members and their families connect with community resources before, during and after a deployment.
