House in Prichard destroyed by fire

PRICHARD, Ala. (WALA) - The Prichard Fire Department and the Alabama State Fire Marshal are investigating a fire.

It happened Sunday on McGee Street. Neighbors report seeing smoke and in a matter of minutes the entire home was engulfed. On Tuesday, the site was still smoldering.

Early last month, the house two doors down burnt to the ground and early this year the house behind that went up in flames.

Chief Mark Trenier says all of the homes were abandoned. He suspects this last fire was caused by someone burning their trash and it got out of hand. Neighbors disagree with that theory.
