MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The Alabama Department of Corrections reported Tuesday that Andrew Joshua Mount escaped from the Mobile Community Based Facility.

Corrections department officials said Mount escaped Sunday, August 26 around 9:45 p.m.

Corrections officers discovered the inmate missing during a bed check and failed to locate him during a search of the building and perimeter.

Mount is a 6 foot 1 inch tall white male, weighing 182 pounds. Officials said he has green eyes and brown hair. He has tattoos on his face, including his eyelids, as well as his neck.

Mount was sentenced out of Mobile County to 10 years for theft and burglary charges in January 2011. His sentence was set to expire on July 1, 2013 and he had a possible parole hearing in January 2013.

Officials ask the public to contact local law enforcement if they have information regarding Mount’s whereabouts.
