SARALAND, Ala. (WALA) - A Saraland man's trial started Tuesday, November 13 on accusations of sexual abuse.
Adam Parker sat next to his defense attorney as a jury was being selected for his trial. Assistant District Attorney Nicki Patterson is trying the case for the state.
"The charges here are that Mr. Parker sexually abused and sodomized a child," Patterson said.
Patterson said the alleged abuse went on for a number of years.
"This is over a period of time when the child was 12 until she was 16," said Patterson.
Patterson was hesitant to release any more information about the alleged abuse until it came out in the trial. Parker's attorney, Walter Honeycutt, did not want to speak on camera until the trial began.
