MOBILE,Ala. (WALA) - Monday may be the last day of fairly good weather to get prepared for Tropical Storm Isaac, and people were taking advantage of it.
In Mobile, Governor Robert Bentley said don't let Monday's sunny skies give you false security.
"We've been through a lot in this area, and people are somewhat resistant to the warnings. But you know, we've been through a lot so they will listen to many of the warnings. We just need to be prepared," said Bentley.
Don Gibson loaded up plywood at Home Depot to protect Chedders Resturant on Airport Boulevard from wind and heavy rains. He wants to make sure Isaac doesn't mess up the restaurants grand opening.
"We just finished the building, so we wanted to protect it to make sure we don't get any damage. (We’re) tying to hire and get everything ready to go for the opening on the 10th," said Gibson.
Even though Isaac seems to be moving to the west of Mobile, Gibson knows we aren't out of the clear just yet.
"We know we might not get the brut of it but might get the aftermath of it," said Gibson.
Shawn Burnside is also getting ready for what Isaac may bring. He works with the Salvation Army in downtown Mobile.
"We are just going to put sandbags in front of the doors in case it floods and streets flood keep the water out," said Burnside.
