Suspect allegedly fired at some high-schoolers

SEMMES, Ala. (WALA) - Deputies said a Semmes man has been arrested for the second time in less than a week.

Jail records show 39-year-old Mark Shane Raiford was arrested on Sunday charged with five counts of unlawful imprisonment.

Raiford was originally arrested on Sept. 25 charged with illegally firing a weapon.

Deputies said he held a group of teens at gun point at an Exxon gas station last week when some of the teens were caught rolling his yard with toilet paper.

"The owner of the home came out and gave chase to the subjects and fired several shots striking their vehicle as they fled the scene,” said Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran. "As it further unraveled, the homeowner later caught up with these kids at a service station a few blocks away.”

Deputies said when the teens in the vehicle arrived at the gas station, five of their classmates were also there.

They said Raifords held all ten of them at gunpoint.

Right now, officials don’t know if the classmates who were originally at the gas station participated in the rolling of Raiford’s yard. They did however say they believe the teens were rolling other yards in the area.

Officials said the case is on-going and don't think there will be any new charges.

Raiford is a public works supervisor in Semmes.
