MOBILE, Alabama (WALA) - A Mobile man who uses a wheelchair said a Mobile police officer tased him in the back and beat the woman who was with him. Ronnie Williams said it happened last week near Brookley Field.

Williams says he's been through a lot in his life, including being shot and paralyzed when he was 19-years-old. But he said he is still surprised by what happened recently.

"Made me feel real bad. I ain't going to jive to see her get beat like that. He beat her. He beat her," said Williams.

Williams claims he saw a Mobile police officer hit Emily Butler.

"She was trying to holler, he was choking her," said Williams.

Williams said it was 10:00 on a Thursday morning. He and Butler had gone to an area near Brookley Field with plans to fish.

When police arrived, Williams said Butler walked up to an officer, and that's when the punches flew.

Williams said he called 911.

"That's the only thing I could think to do," said Williams.

He said he threw his hands up to let officers know he was disabled.

"I am hollering, 'I'm in a wheelchair.' Officer pulls me out of the car and by the time my body is hanging out. I hear a gun shot and I didn't realize he was tasing me," said Williams.

Williams showed FOX10 the spot where he was tased. It is just inches from a huge hole a bullet left in the middle of his back from the previous shooting.

Williams was charged with resisting arrest, failure to obey an officer and falsely reporting an incident.

Butler faces charges including assault second degree, indecent exposure, and possession of a controlled substance. She is still in jail.

Mobile police said they cannot comment unless a complaint is filed with Internal Affairs. Williams said he intends to file a complaint, but so far, he hasn't.
